Just so everyone is aware, this is most definitely 100% NOT TRUE.
This is someone’s HEAD CANON, which means that it is something NOT in the books or that Jo Rowling said, it’s just something someone likes to believe about the story.
And it’s from YEARS ago. Seriously, google it. Look at the dates on the things that come up.
Even the person who originally made the post has brought to light their mistake and taken Jo’s name off of it. Because she never said it and it isn’t true.
So please, don’t go believing things unless there is a legitimate SOURCE attached. This sort of thing happens way too much because people just don’t care to fact check.

Well first I would like to say that sexuality most certainly does work that way. Everyone keeps trying to shove sexuality into a box with boundaries and borders. keep it black and white with no shades of grey. but its a rainbow spectrum with infinite possibilities and combinations.
You can be gay for 7 years and then find yourself growing attracted to someone female. Does that mean you were never gay? no. It means you liked boys and now you like this girl.
“Oh but tech, that means youre bisexual”
No it doesn’t. Because you might not be attracted to guys anymore. That makes you straight. You were gay, now you’re straight. And thats POSSIBLE, it happens and its totally okay despite all these narrow minded people on both sides calling you a liar or a fake. I hate the labels people put on sexuality because labels = restrictions and sexuality has no limits. People like what they like and dont like what they don’t like, i don’t get why we can’t just leave it at that.
that being said, how I feel about dumbledore turning celibate. I think the way Jo described it made perfect sense and anyone who’s had their heart broken can probably relate on some level. She said “He lost his moral compass completely when he fell in love and I think subsequently became very mistrusting of his own judgement in those matters so became quite asexual. He led a celibate and bookish life.”
Dumbledore didn’t ‘change his mind’ he made a choice. He saw how powerful love was, what it did to him, how it blinded him to what Gellert was and blurred the lines of good and evil, and he was ashamed of himself for letting it get so bad.
Sometimes when you lose someone you love you feel like you’ll never love again, or that you dont want to because youre scared youll get hurt again. What that quote says to me is that Dumbledore was more afraid of himself in love because of how it changed him. He didn’t like the person he became when in love and so he vowed not to let it happen again.
He became asexual, uninterested in sex and romantic love to prevent himself from getting caught up in anything like he had with Gellert. It was a traumatic experience really, his turning asexual could’ve been a result of the events and not a choice. I’m just of the opinion that it was something he chose.
Totally logical to me.
Random afterthought: I dont think it hypocritical at all either to preach about love as he did when he himself was scared of the way it transforms a person, because there are so many different types of love. Just because he didn’t have romantic love in his life, didn’t mean he didn’t have any.

Bloomsbury also said it was counting on a new Rowling three-book box set tied into the Potter series
now, don’t freak out, it says TIED INTO. So they’re not new potter books or anything. Most likely stuff like qudditch through the ages, fantastic beasts and tales of beetle the bard etc. But it does say NEW.
So they’re things we don’t have yet presumably. oh man. I WONDER WHAT THEY ARREEE. Any ideas?
I don’t know how to feel about the words ‘BOX SET’ though. It could just be the books we already have but put into a NEW BOX SET (which technically is what the article said)
