 It was Remus’ fault for letting Black in regardless if he knew Black was innocent or not. It was Remus’ forgetfulness that almost got the trio killed. And it was Remus that didn’t stop Black from banging a concussed mans head on the ceiling thus risking instant death. I like Remus but if Snape is responsible for his actions then so is Remus, and making excuses for his actions isn’t fair.
