I can’t imagine not reading the books.  I literally just…can’t.  They meant so much to me growing up, and got me through so many tough times.  Getting lost in a Harry Potter book and disappearing for a few hours was a survival mechanism, and getting inside their heads was something beyond what was made possible in the movies.  I’m always torn when I see those “Not a real fan” posts, because while I would never try to tell people they can’t be part of our little club just because they’ve only seen the movies, I can’t fathom why you wouldn’t WANT to read the books too, and have that more intimate experience.  Of course you’re still real fans, but seriously…you guys don’t know what you’re missing.
